This is the Lewis clan...not all of them (missing Oather). They are L-R back row: Ren, Clara, Ed, Bub, Ella. Front: Mel, Pete & Paul. Dad said that yes, they really did put a bowl over their head when they got a haircut.

Mom's Class Picture

My mother's class picture. Dated June 4, 1927 (she was 9). The teacher's name was "Miss McNulty". Margaret is in the back row, 6th from the left.

Pop

My Dad, Mel Lewis. This was taken long before I was born. He was in the service 3 times, twice in the Army & The Marine Corp and he served in both the Korean War & WW II.

CRAZY AUNT MARY

Today is Aunt Mary's Birthday. She was really my great aunt. Everyone called her "crazy" Aunt Mary because of her endearing spirit. She begged my mother to name me "Carmelita" because I was born on the Feast day of 'Our Lady of Mt. Carmel', obviously my mother had no such intention. Anyway, I am reminded of two things about Aunt Mary. First, she always marveled at nature, she would walk the dog & come back with leaves off the tree..."look at these!" Secondly, when dining out she would pick all the left over bread off everyone's plate and wrap it in a napkin and take it home to feed the birds. She was obsessed with feeding the birds. She was a true animal lover. (She's standing w/her husband Mac at St. Rocco's)

I guess I am around 16 or 17 here, standing in front of my house. I remember this picture because I was about a size 9 (skinny for me). Oh, the life of a teen....not that I am dealing with teenagers or anything.

Hi this is me. This is my Kindergarten photo. There is no special reason for posting this particular photo. The purpose of this blog is to share my "life in photos" to anyone on the internet. I have bins, boxes & albums full of pictures, most of which will have no meaning beyond my generation.

My kids haven't met most of the people in these photos...but I have mostly fond memories of this "family", maybe you will know someone yourself.
